Workforce Development

Workforce Development

At Jenna’s Promise, we believe that everyone deserves a chance at safe and stable employment. One of the main pillars of our organization is our workforce development program. We work with local businesses and utilize our social enterprises to provide a recovery positive workplace.

We understand that entering the workforce after years of suffering from a substance use disorder can seem almost impossible. Participants in our program have access to a phased program that increases skills and knowledge over time.

Participants start by working a few hours a week in our discount store, JP’s Promising Goods. As they start to gain confidence and more independence they increase their hours and have the opportunity to work at Jenna’s Promise Roasting Co. or another local business. Participants are allowed to move at their own pace and with help from our Workforce Development Coordinator and Social Enterprises Managers, participants can work towards achieving their own career goals.

“The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs… one step at a time.”
